According to <a href=\"https:\/\/qanoon.om\/p\/2024\/cpa20240579\/\">Decision No. 579\/2024<\/a>, a ban has been placed on the circulation of products containing <strong>Methyl N-Methylanthranilate (MNM)<\/strong> above specified limits, marking a crucial step in enhancing consumer safety.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Restrictions on Methyl N-Methylanthranilate (MNM) Content:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sun Protection Products:<\/strong>\u00a0The use of MNM is completely prohibited.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Non-Rinsable Cosmetics and Personal Care Products:<\/strong>\u00a0A maximum allowable concentration of 0.1% MNM is permitted.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Rinsable Cosmetics and Personal Care Products:<\/strong>\u00a0The allowable concentration is set at 0.2% MNM.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Penalties for Non-Compliance:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Violators of this decision will face an administrative fine of up to 1,000 Omani riyals.<\/li>\n<li>Repeat offenders will incur doubled fines.<\/li>\n<li>Continued violations will attract daily administrative fines of up to 50 Omani riyals, not exceeding a total of 2,000 Omani riyals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The decision is based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/qanoon.om\/p\/2014\/rd2014066\/\">Consumer Protection Law (Royal Decree No. 66\/2014)<\/a> and its <a href=\"https:\/\/qanoon.om\/p\/2017\/pacp20170077\/\">executive regulations (Decision No. 77\/2017)<\/a>, reflecting a commitment to public interest and consumer safety.
