Basima Al Sumoom Advocates & Legal Consultants “Basima Law” is proud to have supported a unique 3-day development program at Sultan Qaboos University “SQU”, designed to prepare future lawyers and detectives. The event allowed participants to solve complex issues, refining their critical thinking and investigative skills.
On the first day, participants were given scenarios based on real-world issues such as money laundering, organ trafficking, arms and drug trafficking and smuggling, sham contracts, shell companies, fraud etc. Teams were tasked with gathering evidence and understanding the complexities of the crime.
Next day participants work closely as police officers, using professional investigative tools to gather clues and solve the case. The hands-on approach helped participants apply practical knowledge to the fictional crime.
A highlight of the program was the presence of a former drug addict who shared his powerful and inspiring story, adding a personal dimension to the challenges discussed. Participants were treated to a live musical performance on the final day to maintain high energy throughout the event.
The event wrapped up on the final day with the Dean announcing the winning team, recognizing their hard work and innovative approach to solving the case and awards were distributed among the winners.
